Quarterbacks

week 10 nfl injury recap

Justin Herbert

Injury: Ankle injury

Analysis: Herbert injured his ankle Sunday night but was able to finish the game and is not expected to miss any time. Herbert is a tough player and has played through numerous injuries in his career, and it appears an ankle will be his newest injury to power through. Ankle injuries can impact a quarterback's mobility and throwing power and lead to an average 11% decline in fantasy points. Herbert, however, should continue to be a reliable starter.

Geno Smith

Injury: Quad injury

Analysis: Geno left Thursday night's game with a quad contusion (bruise). These are painful and impact the affected muscle's ability to generate force. The quad muscles are critical for sprinting, but fortunately, as soon as the bruising clears out, function returns to normal. Geno's status for week 11 should not be affected.

Jaxson Dart

Injury: Concussion

Analysis: Dart exited Sunday's game with a concussion. Dart had been evaluated for concussions three prior times this season, but this week was the first time that testing was positive. Dart will have to pass through the NFL's concussion protocol, but when he returns,2 his play should not be affected. Dart has been very reliable as a fantasy starter this season.
