Anthony Richardson
Injury: Pinky Dislocation
Analysis: Richardson dislocated the pinky on his throwing arm after taking a huge shot from Ravens David Ojabo. Richardson did not suffer a fracture and will not require surgery. He is day-to-day, and this should not be a problem going forward.
Malik Nabers
Injury: Shoulder Injury
Analysis: Nabers has returned to practice but did not play in the first preseason game as he continues to rehab his shoulder. Returning to practice is encouraging and provides confidence he will be ready for week 1.
Matthew Stafford
Injury: Disc Injury
Analysis: We learned this week that Stafford has a disc injury in his back, not “soreness,” which was first reported. A disc injury makes this a lot more complicated and a lot more likely to be a problem going forward. Discs get aggravated with shearing forces during rotation (like throwing) as well as with rapid flexion-rotation motions and taking hits. What this means is Stafford’s back could become aggravated with any throw or any hit he takes throughout the year. Stafford was already rated “high risk” for injury prior to the report of a disc injury; now he has been elevated to “very high” risk.

AJ Brown
Injury: Hamstring Injury
Analysis: Brown continues to rehab a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Eagles first preseason game. Hamstrings have the highest rates of recurrence of any injury (20-30%), and the Eagles would be wise to slowly ramp Brown up to ensure he is ready for week 1. NFL wide receivers average missing 1.7 weeks with a hamstring injury, making it possible Brown is ready to go week 1.
Khalil Shakir
Injury: High Ankle Sprain
Analysis: Shakir is expected to miss the rest of camp and preseason with a high ankle sprain, the second of his career. High ankle sprain recurrence rates are high, and receivers average missing 2.8 weeks, but do not average any drop-off in fantasy production when they return. Shakir can still be a valuable fantasy asset this year, but injury risk is increased.
Kenneth Walker
Injury: Foot Injury
Analysis: Walker had missed three practices with a foot injury but is back in full. When a foot injury is minor, it does not pose a long-term threat to production or re-injury.
Tyreek Hill
Injury: Oblique Injury
Analysis: Hill has missed the last few practices with an oblique injury. Oblique injuries can impact a receiver’s ability to rotate the torso to make a catch and brace for impact against a hit, but generally, they heal very well. Hill should have enough time to get ready for week 1.
TJ Hockenson
Injury: Groin Injury
Analysis: Hockenson missed a few practices with a groin injury (per some reports, others suggest hip or leg) but was able to play in the preseason opener. Groin injuries have high recurrence rates, and for Hockenson to have suited up, his must have been very minor and therefore not likely an issue going forward.

Rashee Rice
Injury: Groin Injury
Analysis: Rice, who is coming off a severe posterior lateral corner repair, is now dealing with a “minor” groin injury in camp. It’s unclear if this injury is on the same side as his knee surgery, but it is not uncommon for soft tissue injuries like this to occur in the first season after a major knee injury. The groin injury itself is not a major cause for concern; receivers average missing just 1.2 weeks with groin injuries, but Rice will be at higher risk for injury this year, coming off the big knee surgery.
Tucker Kraft
Injury: Groin Injury
Analysis: Kraft missed a few practices with a groin injury but is back. Groin injuries have about an 18% recurrence rate, so Kraft’s status will be monitored through the rest of the preseason. Kraft showed great strides forward last season and is a promising up-and-coming tight end.
Rachaad White
Injury: Groin Injury
Analysis: White injured his groin in the first preseason game. The severity is yet to be determined, but generally, these injuries do not keep players out long. Overal,l White’s injury resume is fairly clean.
Jayden Reed
Injury: Foot Injury
Analysis: Reed is dealing with a foot sprain. Some reports list Reed as “day-to-day,” while others suggest his week 1 status is in doubt. The conflicting reports make it difficult to decipher. When foot sprains are more than just minor, they can disrupt the foot’s ability to adapt shape when running and cutting. A player like Reed, who relies on elite speed and agility, can be particularly affected by these injuries. Add in Reed’s shoulder situation, and he is starting to look like a risky play in fantasy.
Chris Olave
Injury: Ankle Injury
Analysis: Olave is dealing with an ankle injury and is “day-to-day”. Ankle injuries have incredibly high recurrence rates, which will put Olave at elevated risk for re-injury. Olave has a lengthy concussion history, and interestingly, a correlation has been found with concussions increasing the risk for ankle injuries (as well as other concussions). Olave was already listed as “very high” risk for injury, his injury risk is further elevated now.

Tyjae Spears
Injury: High Ankle Sprain
Analysis: Spears was carted off the field during the first preseason game with a high ankle sprain. As of this writing, there are no reports of an associated fracture, but we are still awaiting reports of severity. In the NFL, running backs average missing 2.4 weeks, but can miss as many as 8. High ankle sprain recurrence rates are 8-11% but they can also influence other injuries. Spears was already “high risk” due to his past injury history; this will only further increase his injury risk.
Rondale Moore
Injury: Knee Injury
Analysis: Moore has been reported to have suffered a severe knee injury. As of this writing, we do not have an exact diagnosis, but the sentiment is not good.
Jayden Blue
Injury: Heel Injury
Analysis: Blue is dealing with a heel bruise. These can be nagging injuries as they are tough to offload, but the silver lining is that when the player is warmed up, they usually don’t impact performance. We will look out for updates, but I would not anticipate this being a major issue for week 1.
Jake Ferguson
Injury: Back Injury
Analysis: Ferguson missed the preseason opener with a back injury, but did practice the Friday prior suggesting it is a minor injury. This is unlikely to affect his week 1 status or be a major issue going forward.
Isaac Guerendo
Injury: Shoulder Injury
Analysis: The often-injured second-year back is still out with a shoulder injury. While this itself should not be a long-term issue or an impact on his fantasy stat line, Guerendo has not shown the ability to stay healthy and is “high risk” for injury.
Mike Gesicki
Injury: Hamstring Injury
Analysis: Reports are not completely sure, but they think that Geskick is dealing with a hamstring injury. For a 29-year-old, Gesicki has been very healthy in the NFL. This is his second hamstring injury, which will elevate his injury risk somewhat. Tight ends average missing 2 weeks with a hamstring injury, but see minimal impact on their stat line.
Devin Neal
Injury: Hamstring Injury
Analysis: Neal is expected to miss a few weeks with a hamstring injury. Neal had been remarkably healthy in college and is only 21 years old, making it likely he can fully recover from this efficiently. Hamstrings have a 20-30-% recurrence rate, but with Neal well behind Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller, it’s unlikely he sees much playing time early on anyway, allowing his hamstring to heal more.
Roschon Johnson
Injury: Foot Injury
Analysis: Johnson is missing time with a foot injury. Foot injuries can make it difficult to cut and change direction, and when moderate-severe can be difficult to fully heal in season. Expect Chicago to take it easy with Johnson for now.

Brandon Aiyuk
Injury: ACL/MCL
Analysis: Aiyuk is not expected to be ready for week 1.
Christian Watson
Injury: ACL
Analysis: No major updates on Watson who suffered an ACL tear in week 18.
Chris Godwin
Injury: Ankle Dislocation
Analysis: Godwin continues to rehab from his ankle dislocation. At this time,
his week 1 status is unclear.
