Kupp enters 2025 with numerous risk factors for injury in 2025. Starting with his age, Kupp is now 32 years old, well beyond the biological prime for preventing injury and healing efficiently. Kupp has numerous significant injuries that will increase the risk of future injury. The ACL/MCL from 2018 was his first big injury and surgery, and while he stormed back from that injury to put up elite numbers for several years, this is still a major blip on his injury radar. More recently, it’s been two severe high ankle sprains and a major hamstring injury that put Kupp at risk for future injuries. Past hamstring injuries, especially ones that force a 30+ year old athlete to miss four games, often lead to biological changes that reduce the muscle’s elasticity and strength, making it prone to future injury. Similarly, past high ankle sprains increase risk for future sprains as well as other injuries up the anatomical chain into the knee, hip, and back.
Kupp is one of the all-time most beloved fantasy players and still has value in Seattle. Fantasy players can strategically add Kupp to their rosters this year, just be mindful that he is very high risk for injury, and you’ll need to have depth at the receiver position.
