Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Week 6 NFL injury updates, practice statuses, expected time missed, and fantasy beneficiaries for Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley, Caleb Williams and more.
Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury Updates
The season from injury hell rolls on. Week 6 is loaded with big names sidelined or fighting to play. What's going on with Jalen Hurts' blood clot? Can you trust Caleb Williams or Ladd McConkey? Ashton Jeanty is ready to go, while Jeremiyah Love is ruled out.
Below, we break down 36 fantasy-relevant player injuries, combining medical analysis and historical injury data to give fantasy managers an edge over their leagues.

Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts — Calf Injury / Superficial Blood Clot
Injury: Hurts initially injured his calf October 4. Subsequent imaging revealed a superficial blood clot, and follow-up testing prompted the Eagles to hold him out. He did not practice Thursday or Friday and has been ruled out.
Practice Status: FP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. The Eagles have not established a return timetable.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tanner McKee
Analysis:
A superficial venous thrombosis (SVT) is generally less dangerous than a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), but it requires close monitoring. If the clot extends into the deep venous system, it can potentially travel to the lungs and cause a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. The Eagles confirmed that Hurts' clot moved on follow-up imaging.
The biggest unknown is whether Hurts requires anticoagulation (blood thinners). Some superficial clots can be managed without medication, while others require anticoagulation to prevent progression.
If Hurts requires blood thinners, returning to contact football presents significant bleeding risks. Medical guidelines recommend 45 days of anticoagulation for certain superficial clots, and contact sports are generally restricted during treatment.
Without knowing his treatment plan, Hurts could miss anywhere from a few weeks to a significant portion of the remaining season. His next medical update will be critical in determining his fantasy outlook.
Lamar Jackson — Left Ankle Sprain
Injury: Jackson injured his left ankle October 4 and has not returned to practice. He missed all three practices and was ruled out for the second consecutive game.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Potential week 7 return.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tyler Huntley
Analysis:
Jackson will miss his second consecutive game with a left ankle injury that we suspect is a deltoid ligament sprain. This type of injury can compromise ankle stability and make rapid changes of direction difficult, a hallmark of Jackson's game.
He hasn't practiced since the injury, making next week's participation particularly important in evaluating his mobility ahead of Week 7. His passing ability should be less affected, but much of Jackson's fantasy value comes from his legs. Even if he returns next week, his rushing production could remain limited until the ankle fully recovers.

Caleb Williams — Grade 2 Right Hamstring Strain
Injury: Williams injured his right hamstring September 20 and has missed three games. He returned to full participation throughout Week 6 preparation, and it is believed that he will play.
Practice Status: FP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tyson Bagent
Analysis:
Williams appears on track to return in Week 6, although he remains questionable. Nearly four weeks of recovery should allow substantial improvement in pain, mobility, and strength, but the hamstring tissue may not be fully healed. Hamstring re-injury rates are notoriously high, particularly shortly after returning.
Williams relies on his right hamstring to generate power through his throwing mechanics. Three full practice designations are encouraging, but his ability to drive the ball remains to be seen. His mobility may also be limited, with scrambling presenting a greater re-injury risk.
Our data set of 16 QBs returning from hamstring injuries shows a 37% decline in fantasy points in their first game back. Given the recurrence risk and potential performance limitations, fantasy managers should strongly consider sitting Williams this week, even if he plays.
Michael Penix - Rib Injury
Injury: Penix injured his ribs during Week 5 against Baltimore, forcing him to briefly leave the game. He practiced fully all week and carries no injury designation.
Practice Status: FP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: No additional time missed expected. Will start Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tua Tagovailoa
Analysis:
The ribs and surrounding muscles play an important role in trunk rotation, stabilization, and breathing. Throwing requires coordinated rotation through the trunk to transfer power from the lower body to the throwing arm. Rib pain can disrupt this process, potentially affecting throwing velocity and deep-ball accuracy.
Penix's three full practices and lack of an injury designation are encouraging. Our data set of 16 QBs with rib injuries shows an average of 1.7 games missed with no significant decline in fantasy production upon return.
I expect Penix to play effectively, with the biggest concern being another direct hit to the ribs.
Baker Mayfield — Right Thumb Dislocation
Injury: Mayfield dislocated his right thumb September 27 and continues to recover. He did not practice this week and has been ruled out against Pittsburgh.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. No confirmed return date.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Jalon Daniels
Analysis:
Mayfield will miss his third consecutive game as he continues recovering from his right thumb dislocation. This is a more difficult injury to rehab than many realize, particularly for a quarterback's throwing hand.
Restoring grip strength, thumb stability, and ball control takes time. Although imaging reportedly showed no ligament or tendon damage, re-dislocation remains a concern when he returns, particularly if the thumb absorbs another direct impact.
Until Mayfield can grip and throw the ball confidently, his effectiveness and return timeline remain uncertain.
Running Backs

Ashton Jeanty — Plantar Fasciitis
Injury: Jeanty continues to deal with plantar fasciitis after previously managing an ankle injury. He practiced fully throughout the week and carries no game designation against Buffalo.
Practice Status: FP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: No additional time missed expected. The foot condition remains worth monitoring.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Mike Washington Jr.
Analysis:
Plantar fasciitis is extremely difficult to manage during the season, as the tissue needs reduced loading and recovery time to heal. The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue along the bottom of the foot that plays a critical role in force generation during push-off and sprinting.
The good news is that pain often improves once an athlete warms up, allowing them to play effectively. The concern is worsening the injury, as we saw with Will Shipley's partial plantar fascia tear last week.
Jeanty played 53% of snaps in Week 5, but reports feeling significantly better this week and practiced fully. His workload could increase against Buffalo.
If Jeanty can avoid aggravating the plantar fascia, he should remain productive. However, this injury has the potential to linger throughout the season.
Saquon Barkley — Hamstring Injury
Injury: Barkley injured his hamstring October 4 and remains sidelined. He missed all three practices and has been ruled out for a second consecutive game.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. Hopeful for week 7 return.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele
Analysis:
Barkley will miss his second consecutive game as he continues recovering from his hamstring injury. Fortunately, Saquon has limited hamstring injury history, reducing concerns about previous tissue damage. The downside is his age (29), as healing efficiency can decline with age, and hamstring re-injury remains a concern.
Our data set of 98 RBs with hamstring injuries shows an average of 1.8 games missed. Barkley is now set to miss his second game, with hopes of returning in Week 7.
The encouraging news is that our data shows no average decline in fantasy production following hamstring injuries in RBs. If Barkley can avoid re-aggravation, he should return to his usual level of production.
Breece Hall — Quadriceps Injury
Injury: Hall continues to recover from the quadriceps injury sustained September 27. He missed all three practices and has been ruled out against New England.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. Return date unconfirmed.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Braelon Allen
Analysis:
Hall continues to rehab his quadriceps injury and will miss Week 6. The quads are critical power generators, particularly for acceleration, cutting, and running through contact. Re-injury remains a concern, but Hall's youth should work in his favor during recovery.
Our data set of 48 RBs with quadriceps injuries shows an average of 1.8 games missed with no decline in fantasy production after returning.
Hall should be capable of returning to his usual level of production once healthy, provided he avoids re-aggravation.
Quinshon Judkins — Ankle Injury
Injury: Judkins injured his ankle October 11 and missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices. He returned to limited participation Friday but remains questionable against Baltimore.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime
Analysis:
Judkins is questionable for Week 6 with an ankle injury, but there is optimism he can play after returning to limited practice Friday. Cleveland has not disclosed the exact diagnosis, but his potential availability suggests a less severe injury.
The concern is that reports indicate this is the same right ankle he fractured and dislocated last season, requiring surgery in December. Additional trauma to an already surgically repaired ankle raises concerns about stability, mobility, and explosiveness.
Judkins has already struggled to generate explosiveness this season, averaging just 3.0 yards per carry through five games. Any additional limitation in his right ankle could further compromise his ability to accelerate and change direction.
Even if Judkins plays, benching him this week is a reasonable consideration.
Alvin Kamara — Back Injury
Injury: Kamara appeared on this week's injury report with a back issue. He remained limited throughout the week, with no more specific diagnosis or injury date confirmed.
Practice Status: LP/LP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Kendre Miller
Analysis:
Kamara continues to manage a back injury but was able to practice on a limited basis all three days this week. While he's questionable for Week 6, his ability to practice is encouraging and makes a significant structural injury less concerning, although one cannot be ruled out without further information.
Acute back injuries without significant structural damage can often improve relatively quickly, allowing athletes to return to their usual level of performance.
Kamara hasn't been the most attractive fantasy asset this season, but if he plays, I wouldn't expect this back injury to be the primary reason for a poor performance.
David Montgomery — Groin Injury
Injury: Montgomery injured his groin October 11 and did not practice this week. Houston ruled him out of Sunday's London game.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Week-to-week. Out Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Woody Marks
Analysis:
Montgomery will miss Week 6 with a groin injury. The groin muscles are critical for single-leg stability, acceleration, and cutting, but these injuries generally have a relatively modest impact on fantasy production after recovery.
Our data set of 46 RBs with groin injuries shows an average of 1.7 games missed and a 10% decline in fantasy points in the first game back.
At 29, Montgomery's age may slightly reduce healing efficiency, and he is currently considered week-to-week. Missing multiple games remains a possibility, but next week's practice participation should provide more clarity on his return.

TreVeyon Henderson — Right High Ankle Sprain
Injury: Henderson injured his right ankle October 11 and has been limited throughout Week 6 preparation. He remains on the Patriots' final injury report with a questionable designation.
Practice Status: LP/LP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6. No confirmed longer-term timetable.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Rhamondre Stevenson, Corey Kiner
Analysis:
What a saga this has been for Henderson, who went from a potential IR candidate to practicing on a limited basis all three days this week following a high ankle sprain.
High ankle sprains vary significantly in severity. Moderate-to-severe injuries (grades II–III) can compromise ankle stability, making explosive movements and changes of direction extremely difficult. Mild (grade I) injuries may cause minimal instability and can sometimes be played through effectively. Henderson's exact severity remains unconfirmed.
Our data set of 61 RBs with high ankle sprains shows an average of 2.4 games missed with no average decline in fantasy production upon return. Interestingly, among RBs who missed zero games, 53.8% scored at or above their pre-injury baseline in their first game after injury.
If Henderson plays this week, there's a reasonable chance he can produce at or above his pre-injury baseline, although his workload and re-injury risk remain concerns.
Jeremiyah Love — Left Ankle Injury
Injury: Love continues to manage a left ankle injury sustained October 4. This is a separate episode from his preseason left high ankle sprain. He did not practice this week and has been ruled out against the Rams.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. Return timetable unconfirmed.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tyler Allgeier
Analysis:
Love will get the opportunity to left his ankle injury rest and heal for at least one week. At his age, healing is very efficient; it is possible one week off is all he needs to return and play well.
Kyle Monangai — Thumb and Toe Injuries
Injury: Monangai is dealing with both thumb and toe injuries. The thumb injury dates to October 4, while the exact onset of the toe issue remains uncertain. He missed all three practices.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson
Analysis:
Monangai will miss his second consecutive game with toe and thumb injuries. While thumb injuries generally have less impact on RB production, toe injuries can significantly affect performance.
The big toe needs approximately 60–90 degrees of extension for effective push-off during sprinting. Pain, stiffness, or instability through this motion can compromise running mechanics, speed, and power.
Our injury data shows an average of 1.7 games missed and over a 40% decline in fantasy points in the first game back, although production typically returns to baseline quickly.
Monangai remains week-to-week, but coach Ben Johnson reports he is progressing. Better days should be ahead once his toe heals.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt — Groin Injury
Injury: Croskey-Merritt continues to manage a groin injury and missed both Thursday and Friday practices.
Practice Status: DNP / DNP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Week 6 availability uncertain. Washington's final designation is pending Saturday.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Rachaad White, Austin Ekeler if available
Analysis:
Croskey-Merritt is in danger of missing Week 6 after failing to practice Thursday or Friday with a groin injury. The groin muscles are critical for single-leg stability, acceleration, and changing direction, making this a potentially limiting injury for RBs.
Our data set of 46 RBs with groin injuries shows an average of 1.7 games missed and a 10% decline in fantasy points in the first game back.
His injury severity remains unknown, but two consecutive missed practices are concerning. Fantasy managers should prepare for Croskey-Merritt to miss Monday's game, pending Saturday's final report.
Rico Dowdle — Toe Injury
Injury: Dowdle continues to manage a toe injury but progressed from limited Wednesday to full participation Thursday and Friday. Despite that progress, Pittsburgh lists him as questionable.
Practice Status: LP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Jaylen Warren
Analysis:
Dowdle appears on track to return in Week 6 after missing three games with a toe injury. He progressed to full participation Thursday and Friday, although he remains questionable.
Toe injuries can significantly affect push-off mechanics, acceleration, and explosiveness, particularly when the big toe is involved. While two full practices are encouraging, his ability to generate power and change direction at game speed remains to be seen.
The bigger fantasy concern is workload. Jaylen Warren has emerged as Pittsburgh's featured RB during Dowdle's absence, and the coaching staff has indicated that won't change.
Even if Dowdle returns healthy, he may struggle to regain his previous workload, making him a risky fantasy start.
Tyjae Spears — Knee Injury
Injury: Spears appeared on this week's report with a knee injury. He was limited Wednesday, missed Thursday, and returned to full practice Friday.
Practice Status: LP/DNP/FP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Tony Pollard, Nicholas Singleton
Analysis:
Spears is questionable for Week 6 with a knee injury. After missing Thursday's practice, he returned to full participation Friday, an encouraging sign for his availability.
The knee is critical for cutting, acceleration, and absorbing force when running through contact. Without a confirmed diagnosis, it's difficult to assess re-injury risk, but his return to full practice suggests improving tolerance to activity.
Spears appears on track to play, although his workload and effectiveness remain uncertain.
Rachaad White — Shoulder Injury
Injury: White continues to manage the shoulder injury originally sustained September 27. Washington listed him as a full participant Thursday and limited Friday.
Practice Status: FP / LP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Monday availability pending the final report.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Austin Ekeler or Jacory Croskey-Merritt, depending on availability
Analysis:
White continues to manage a shoulder injury that previously caused him to miss time. After practicing fully Thursday, he was downgraded to limited participation Friday and wore a non-contact jersey.
Shoulder injuries can be particularly problematic for RBs, who absorb frequent direct contact while carrying the football. Depending on the injured tissue, pain and instability can affect ball security and willingness to initiate contact.
White's availability remains uncertain, but with Jacory Croskey-Merritt also injured, he could see an increased workload if cleared to play.
Austin Ekeler — Chest Injury
Injury: Ekeler continues to manage a chest injury reported in Week 5. He has been limited in both of Washington's published practice reports this week.
Practice Status: LP / LP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Monday availability remains uncertain.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Rachaad White
Analysis:
Ekeler has been limited in both practices this week with a chest injury, wearing a non-contact jersey on both days.
Without a specific diagnosis, it's difficult to determine the severity. Chest injuries can make absorbing contact particularly painful, potentially affecting a running back's ability to run through tackles and contribute in pass protection.
Ekeler's status remains uncertain heading into Monday. With multiple injuries in Washington's backfield, he could have an increased opportunity if healthy enough to play.
Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb — Quadriceps Injury
Injury: Lamb continues to manage the quadriceps issue aggravated during Week 5. He practiced fully throughout the week and carries no injury designation against Green Bay.
Practice Status: FP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: No additional time missed expected.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy
Analysis:
Lamb has been a full participant all week and has had over 10 days to allow his quad bruise to subside. This should not affect him.
Drake London — Hip Injury
Injury: London was a late addition to Atlanta's injury report Friday with a hip injury. He participated on a limited basis, with no specific tissue injury disclosed.
Practice Status: FP/FP/LP
Expected Time Missed: No Week 6 injury designation. Expected to play against Chicago.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Kyle Pitts, Olamide Zaccheaus, Zachariah Branch
Analysis:
London is expected to play through a new hip injury that was first reported Friday. He was limited in practice but carries no injury designation, suggesting the issue is relatively minor.
Hip injuries can affect acceleration and change of direction, but London's ability to practice and lack of a game designation are encouraging.
Our data set of WRs with hip injuries shows no average decline in fantasy production after returning. London should be started with confidence in Week 6.
Rashee Rice — Hamstring and Knee Injuries
Injury: Rice remains sidelined by hamstring and knee issues. He missed all three practices and has been ruled out.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. No firm return date.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Xavier Worthy, Jalen Royals
Analysis:
Rice will miss another game with hamstring and knee injuries, although coach Andy Reid remains optimistic about his recovery, leaving open the possibility of a Week 7 return.
Hamstring injuries can limit a receiver's top-end speed and explosiveness. Fortunately, Rice operates primarily in the short and intermediate passing game, which generally places less high-speed sprinting demand on the hamstrings than a vertical deep threat.
Our data set of 212 WRs with hamstring injuries shows only a 7% decline in fantasy points after returning.
Rice should remain a valuable fantasy asset once healthy, although re-injury risk will be an important consideration early in his return.
AJ Brown - High Ankle Sprain
Injury: Brown suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1 against Seattle and missed the following four games. He was officially activated from injured reserve Saturday after practicing on a limited basis throughout the week.
Practice Status: LP/LP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Four games already missed. Activated for Week 6, although he remains questionable.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas
Analysis:
High ankle sprains involve the syndesmosis, which stabilizes the tibia and fibula during ankle loading. This stability is critical for accelerating, planting, and making explosive changes of direction.
Fortunately, Brown has had more than five weeks to recover, providing substantial time for ligament healing and restoration of ankle stability. That's an encouraging timeline for his return.
Our data set of 51 WRs with high ankle sprains shows an average of 2.5 games missed and just a 1.6% decline in fantasy points in the first game back. However, snap share declines an average of 12.8%.
Brown has had sufficient time to rehab, and the performance data is encouraging. His workload is the biggest uncertainty, but if he sees a substantial snap share, I expect him to be productive immediately.
Chris Olave — Illness
Injury: Olave missed Wednesday and Thursday due to illness before returning to limited participation Friday.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Devaughn Vele, Barion Brown
Analysis:
Illness is going to affect every athlete different depending on what the illness is and how bad it is. Generally players can push through and play well, I'd expect that from Olave.
Deebo Samuel — Left Hamstring Injury
Injury: Samuel injured his left hamstring October 11 against Seattle and has not returned to practice. He was listed DNP on both Thursday and Friday.
Practice Status: DNP / DNP / —
Expected Time Missed: Week-to-week. Expected to miss time, with final Week 6 designation pending.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Brandin Cooks, Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins
Analysis:
Samuel is expected to miss multiple weeks with a left hamstring injury. Wide receivers are particularly vulnerable to hamstring injuries due to the repeated high-speed sprinting their position demands. At nearly 31, healing efficiency becomes an additional concern, and re-injury risk will remain elevated when he returns.
Our data set of 212 WRs with hamstring injuries shows an average of 1.6 games missed and only a 7% decline in fantasy points after returning.
While Samuel could miss multiple weeks, the data suggests he should be capable of returning to near-baseline production once healthy, provided he avoids re-aggravation.
Mike Evans — Rib Injury and Achilles Soreness
Injury: Evans is managing an existing rib injury along with newly reported Achilles soreness. He missed Thursday and Friday practices.
Practice Status: DNP / DNP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Week 6 availability uncertain. Team reporting suggests he may still play despite the missed practices, but the final designation remains pending.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Jacob Cowing, Brandin Cooks
Analysis:
Evans has not practiced this week as he continues managing a rib injury and newly reported Achilles soreness. He has already played through the rib injury without reported setbacks, suggesting the Achilles may be the more limiting issue.
Achilles pain can affect acceleration, top-end speed, and jumping ability, although symptoms often improve once an athlete warms up. Evans has played effectively through his rib injury, and there's reason for optimism if the Achilles discomfort is mild.
Playing Monday creates a difficult decision for fantasy managers, but if Evans suits up, I expect him to remain productive. Saturday's final practice report will be important in determining his availability.
Jalen Coker - Quad Injury
Injury: Coker continues to manage a quadriceps injury but practiced fully all week and carries no game designation. He has a documented history of quadriceps injuries dating back to 2024 and 2025.
Practice Status: FP/FP/FP
Expected Time Missed: Available Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: John Metchie III, David Moore
Analysis:
The quadriceps are critical for sprinting and changing direction. These movements are particularly demanding for receivers who repeatedly sprint, stop, and cut during routes.
My biggest concern is Coker's history of quad injuries in 2024 and 2025. Repeated injuries to the same muscle group raise concerns about residual weakness and re-injury, even when an athlete appears fully recovered.
Our data set of 60 WRs with quadriceps injuries shows an average of 1.1 games missed with no meaningful decline in fantasy production in the first game back.
Coker should be capable of producing immediately, but his injury history makes another setback a legitimate concern.
Terry McLaurin — Hamstring Injury
Injury: McLaurin remains on Washington's injury report with a hamstring issue. After limited participation Thursday, he did not practice Friday.
Practice Status: LP / DNP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Monday availability pending Saturday's report.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks
Analysis:
McLaurin continues to manage a hamstring injury but returned to action in Week 5, playing 57% of snaps and catching all four targets for 62 yards. He was limited Thursday, while Friday's DNP was reportedly a veteran rest day, rather than an injury setback.
Hamstring injuries are particularly challenging for receivers who rely on explosive acceleration and top-end speed. Even after returning, re-injury risk remains elevated until the tissue fully recovers.
Our data set of 212 WRs with hamstring injuries shows just a 7% decline in fantasy production after returning.
McLaurin's performance last week was encouraging, and if he plays Monday, he should remain a viable fantasy option, although his snap count may still be limited.

DeVonta Smith — Hamstring and Toe Injuries
Injury: Smith is returning from the hamstring injury originally suffered in Week 2 and also appeared on the report with a toe issue. He progressed from DNP Wednesday to full participation Friday.
Practice Status: DNP/LP/FP
Expected Time Missed: No Week 6 game designation. Expected to return against Carolina.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown
Analysis:
Smith appears ready to return in Week 6 after dealing with hamstring and toe injuries. The hamstring injury initially occurred in Week 2 against Tennessee in extreme heat, while the onset of the toe injury remains unclear.
Smith's ability to stretch the field places significant stress on his hamstrings. While our data set shows only a 7% decline in fantasy production after hamstring injuries, his playing style and the Eagles' struggling offense could lead to a greater decline.
The toe injury adds another concern, as toe mobility is critical for sprinting and explosive push-off. Our data shows a 17% decline in fantasy points following toe injuries in WRs.
Smith remains a talented receiver whom most fantasy managers will start, but the combination of injuries creates more risk than usual this week.
DK Metcalf — Illness
Injury: Metcalf was added to Friday's report with an illness and did not practice.
Practice Status: FP/FP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Germie Bernard, Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington
Analysis:
It's unclear what illness Metcalf is dealing with. Generally, players can play well, but in the event his illness affects his stamina he could see a reduced workload.
Stefon Diggs — Hamstring Strain
Injury: Diggs missed Week 5 due to a hamstring injury. He did not practice Thursday but returned in a limited capacity Friday.
Practice Status: DNP / LP / Saturday —
Expected Time Missed: Day-to-day. Monday availability pending Saturday's final report.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Treylon Burks, Dyami Brown
Analysis:
Diggs appears to be progressing in the right direction, returning to limited practice Friday after missing Thursday with a hamstring injury. Saturday's final practice report will be critical in determining his availability for Monday night.
Hamstring injuries can limit acceleration and top-end speed, but Diggs operates primarily in the intermediate passing game, making the injury potentially less impactful than it would be for a deep threat.
Our data set of 212 WRs with hamstring injuries shows only a 7% decline in fantasy points after returning.
If Diggs is cleared to play, he should remain a viable fantasy option, although re-injury risk remains a concern.
Ladd McConkey — Foot Injury
Injury: McConkey continues to manage the foot injury aggravated October 4. He was limited Wednesday and Thursday before returning to full participation Friday.
Practice Status: LP/LP/FP
Expected Time Missed: No Week 6 game designation. Expected to play against Kansas City.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Quentin Johnston, Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Analysis:
McConkey has been frustrating for fantasy managers this season, dealing with multiple injuries that have limited his production. The good news is that he has been removed from the Week 6 injury report, suggesting he's healthier than he's been in weeks. However, coach Jim Harbaugh has not committed to giving him his full snap share.
Foot injuries can significantly affect planting, cutting, and changing direction, movements that are especially important for a slot receiver. McConkey was technically active last week but did not play a snap, making his workload particularly concerning.
Our data set shows a 44% decline in fantasy points in the first game after a foot injury.
Despite his improved health, the combination of potential performance limitations and an uncertain snap count makes McConkey a risky Week 6 start. Fantasy managers should consider sitting him.
DJ Moore — AC Joint Sprain
Injury: Moore continues to manage the AC joint injury aggravated October 4. He missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices before returning on a limited basis Friday.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/LP
Wednesday's participation was estimated.
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Skyler Bell
Analysis:
Moore continues to deal with a recurring left AC joint sprain and is questionable for Week 6. He missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices before returning on a limited basis Friday.
AC joint injuries primarily affect a receiver's ability to absorb contact, secure contested catches, and land on the injured shoulder. Moore has already aggravated this injury once, making re-injury the biggest concern.
Our injury data shows WRs generally return to baseline fantasy production by their second game after an AC joint injury.
Even if Moore plays, his recurring shoulder issues and potential workload limitations make him a risky fantasy start this week.
Zay Flowers — Toe Injury
Injury: Flowers appeared on Baltimore's injury report with a toe issue. He was limited Thursday and Friday, with no more specific diagnosis confirmed.
Practice Status: FP/LP/LP
Expected Time Missed: No Week 6 game designation. Expected to play.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester
Analysis:
A Thursday addition to the injury report is never ideal, but Flowers was able to practice on a limited basis Thursday and Friday. He has since been removed from the injury report, suggesting this was a relatively minor toe injury.
Mild toe injuries generally have minimal impact on running mechanics and fantasy production. While our data set shows a 17% decline in fantasy points for WRs after toe injuries, I wouldn't be overly concerned about Flowers' toe given his practice participation and clearance.
The bigger concern is Lamar Jackson's absence, which could negatively affect Flowers' fantasy production even if the toe is no longer an issue.
Tre Harris — Hamstring Injury
Injury: Harris injured his hamstring October 11 and did not practice this week. He has been ruled out against Kansas City.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6. No confirmed return date.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Derius Davis
Analysis:
Harris will miss Week 6 after injuring his hamstring last week. He did not practice at all, suggesting he still has meaningful limitations.
Hamstring injuries are particularly concerning for receivers who rely on downfield speed, as sprinting places significant stress on the injured tissue. Re-injury risk is elevated early in recovery, making a cautious return important.
Our data set of 212 WRs with hamstring injuries shows an average of 1.6 games missed and just a 7% decline in fantasy points after returning.
Harris could miss additional time, but the data suggests he should be capable of returning to near-baseline production once healthy. Next week's practice reports will provide more insight.
Adonai Mitchell — Finger Injury
Injury: Mitchell continues to recover from the finger injury sustained September 24. He missed all three practices and has been ruled out against New England.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Wednesday's participation was estimated.
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Williams
Analysis:
Mitchell will miss his fourth consecutive game after suffering a finger injury in practice on September 24. He recently underwent a procedure on his right hand and remains week-to-week.
Finger injuries can significantly affect a receiver's ability to grip and secure the football, particularly on contested catches. The fact that Mitchell required a procedure and has yet to resume practicing suggests this is more than a minor injury.
Mitchell could miss additional time, and his ability to catch the football confidently will be critical when he returns.
Roman Wilson — Finger Injury
Injury: Wilson injured a finger October 11 and missed every practice this week. Pittsburgh ruled him out against Tampa Bay.
Practice Status: DNP/DNP/DNP
Expected Time Missed: Out Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Germie Bernard, DK Metcalf if available
Analysis:
Wilson dislocated a finger during Week 5 and is expected to miss multiple weeks. He has not practiced since the injury and is officially ruled out for Week 6.
Finger dislocations can damage the surrounding ligaments and joint capsule, compromising stability and grip strength. Even after the joint is reduced, swelling and stiffness can make catching the football difficult, while re-dislocation remains a concern.
Wilson is week-to-week, and his ability to regain finger mobility and stability will determine when he can return. His absence should create additional opportunities for Germie Bernard and Pittsburgh's tight ends.
Tight Ends

Tyler Warren — Groin Injury
Injury: Warren suffered a groin injury during Friday's practice and was added to the injury report as a limited participant.
Practice Status: FP/FP/LP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree
Analysis:
Warren injured his groin during Friday's practice and is now questionable for Week 6. A late-week injury like this is particularly challenging, as the early inflammatory phase of healing is often accompanied by pain, reduced range of motion, and strength loss.
The groin muscles are critical for acceleration, cutting, and single-leg stability. Depending on the severity, these limitations could affect Warren's explosiveness and increase the risk of aggravating the injury if he plays.
The good news is that our injury data shows no average decline in fantasy points for TEs returning from groin injuries.
If Warren manages to play, he could still be productive, but the timing of this injury makes him a risky Week 6 start.
Kenyon Sadiq — Concussion
Injury: Sadiq sustained a concussion October 11. He progressed from limited participation Wednesday and Thursday to full participation Friday.
Practice Status: LP/LP/FP
Expected Time Missed: Questionable Week 6. Final concussion-protocol clearance has not been confirmed.
Primary Beneficiary If Time Missed: Mason Taylor, Jeremy Ruckert
Analysis:
Sadiq practiced in full on Friday but still needs clearance to pass through the concussion protocol. That could come in the next 24 hours. If he can play, no performance decline is expected.
Final Thoughts
Week 6 presents several major decisions for fantasy managers, with multiple starting quarterbacks and running backs already ruled out and uncertainty surrounding several key receivers.
The most important developments before kickoff will be Caleb Williams' availability, late updates on questionable players, and Saturday's final reports for Washington and San Francisco.
As always, monitor official game-day inactive lists before setting lineups, particularly for players returning from extended absences or dealing with multiple injuries.
Fantasy Injury Team will continue tracking these injuries throughout the season, with updated practice participation, expected time missed, and performance trends available through our injury tracking resources.
